6B support Watoto Visions

Actually, it only should be a visit to the English class. The student Bjarne Franck from the class 6b had visitors from Kenya this spring. Bjarne and his family support the association Watoto Visions e.V. which takes care of full and half- orphans in Kenya. The association chairman, who resides locally in Kenya, was on a visit in Emsdetten for a few weeks. At that time, the idea that the Kenyan woman, Anne Bajema Karonji, should take an English class in the 6b arose.

Spontaneously, the students of the class 6b decided to collect donations for this association from relatives, friends and even with strangers at the door . Within a very short time, they collected incredible 1037.65 euros. With this money, (maize, rice and beans) and school uniforms can be purchased and school fees and food are paid for the 30 children in Kenya. At this year's Christmas party in Kenya, it is also possible to make a gift for each child, which is made of white flour and oil, so that they have the opportunity to make pancakes

Also letter contact with the children was established now, which will be expanded in the future. If you are interested to supporting the association or in taking on a sponsorship, you are welcomed to get in touch with the family Franck in Emsdetten
